This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Balance hands-on creation of VFX assets while leading a team
• Collaborate closely with the Principal VFX Artist to strategize and produce content
• Supervise and assist external VFX collaborators
• Work alongside Production Management to define and assess project scope
• Partner with Art Directors to establish visual objectives
• Evaluate the work of VFX artists for both aesthetic quality and technical proficiency
• Engage with various disciplines for gameplay and cinematic experiences
• Coordinate with teams to ensure the prompt delivery of VFX assets
• Collaborate with the Tool and Engine team to drive continuous enhancements
• Advocate for and implement new production techniques and optimizations
• Address any concerns regarding workplace behavior
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of VFX artists
• Proficient in Houdini and Maya at an advanced level
• Skills in 3D modeling and procedural modeling
• Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary game engines and editors (e.g., Unreal, Unity)
• Skilled in real-time particle-editing tools and VFX systems (e.g., Unreal’s Niagara)
• Advanced comprehension of intricate node-based shader networks
• Familiarity with game scripting and/or node-based frameworks
• Strong understanding of technical scripting, programming, and expressions
• Proficient in Photoshop for texture creation and editing
• Knowledge of software for procedural texture generation
• Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
