This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Engage in and spearhead development initiatives across software teams located worldwide.
• Ensure that global applications are suitable for international markets.
• Capable of organizing and prioritizing tasks; multitasking while coordinating team activities and reporting progress to stakeholders and management.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather extensive information about the issues at hand and implement short- to mid-term strategies to enhance products for future success (UX / Design / Product / PMO, etc.).
• Objectively evaluate multiple approaches and suggest the most appropriate technical direction, backed by logic and reasoning.
• Actively participate in the design of service layer architecture.
• Develop spikes and prototypes.
• Produce high-quality code.
• Take ownership of the complete development and deployment cycle for your software.
• Foster the growth of developers in their craft.
• Diagnose and resolve production application issues, often unrelated to your own work.
• Automate testing, deployments, performance monitoring, and recovery processes.
• Proven experience in leading engineering and development efforts.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
• Strong skills in backend development.
• Demonstrated ability to design and create clean, scalable, and well-structured APIs.
• Experience with Java 17+ or other JVM languages.
• Familiarity with modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience in Test-Driven Development.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration practices.
• Understanding of current trends and practices in software architecture.
• Prior experience with Design Patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience working with AWS or another Cloud Provider.
• Familiarity with CI/CD servers (GitLab/Jenkins).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, or other orchestration/scheduling frameworks.
• Experience in an SOA development environment.
• Working knowledge of one or more database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Desirable: Experience in DevOps.
• Familiarity with the Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk stack.
• Experience with Databricks or Spark.
• Experience working with Terraform.
• Familiarity with the Helm package manager.
• Experience with distributed systems.
