Lead Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software utilizing our technology stack (Java, MySQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, AWS).

• Drive architectural choices that enhance scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.

• Offer technical guidance on hosting and supporting high-performance web applications and services in AWS.

• Write clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested code that adheres to best practices and established coding standards.

• Conduct comprehensive code reviews and deliver clear, constructive feedback to colleagues.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers by imparting knowledge, best practices, and technical advice.

• Collaborate closely with team members across Engineering, Product, QA, and other cross-functional partners to ensure timely and accurate feature delivery.

• Engage in technical planning, estimation, and feature design discussions.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing enhancements to tools, processes, and architecture.

• Ensure software quality through extensive testing, debugging, and performance optimization.

• Assist in maintaining system reliability, availability, and security, including compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues in both development and production environments.

• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in a SaaS or product-based setting.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, MariaDB/MySQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular.

• Experience with deploying to AWS and maintaining performance within a cloud environment.

• Proven capability to work independently on complex technical challenges while effectively contributing to a team.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality software and mentoring fellow developers.
