Lead Software Development Engineer in Test – Mobile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive mobile testing and automation for iOS and Android applications based on Flutter.

• Design, enhance, and take ownership of scalable mobile automation frameworks utilizing tools such as Appium, Flutter Integration Tests, Espresso, and more.

• Promote the integration of AI-assisted testing methods, including test generation, failure analysis, flaky test reduction, intelligent reporting, and prompt-based workflows.

• Develop and implement test strategies that encompass functional, regression, performance, reliability, and non-functional testing.

• Troubleshoot complex issues within automation code, application behavior, device/platform variances, and CI infrastructure.

• Ensure release quality by managing automated regressions, conducting risk assessments, and providing final QA approvals.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Development, and DevOps teams to enhance testability and minimize production defects.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to SDETs and interns; establish coding standards, review processes, and automation best practices.

• Monitor and communicate quality metrics, automation ROI, and coverage to stakeholders.

• Continuously enhance QA processes to decrease cycle time and boost confidence in releases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in mobile testing and automation, with a lead-level role.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Flutter-based mobile applications and testing frameworks, including Flutter Integration Tests, Appium, and Espresso.

• Proficient programming skills in Dart, Java, Kotlin, or comparable languages.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining robust and scalable test automation frameworks.

• Strong grasp of mobile-specific challenges, including platform differences, lifecycle, performance, memory, and network issues.

• Experience in integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Codemagic, Bitrise, and GitHub Actions.

• Solid understanding of API testing and dependencies on backend systems.

• Ability to conduct thorough root-cause analysis (RCA) for automation failures and production challenges.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, agile environments and independently driving quality initiatives.
