Lead Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee security engineering and testing initiatives throughout Kainos Platforms and Services.

• Establish guidelines for security testing methodologies, engagement scopes, deliverables, and the selection of tools and technologies.

• Mentor and develop junior security engineers.

• Collaborate with agile delivery teams to foster effective security practices.

• Disseminate knowledge and provide education to customers and Kainos team members regarding best security practices.

• Manage, coach, and nurture team members, emphasizing performance and career growth.

• Offer guidance and leadership to the team while addressing complex challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in securing Web Applications and Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS/Azure).

• Skilled in testing software and infrastructure security with manual or automated security tools.

• Expertise in evaluating software and infrastructure source code from a security perspective.

• Knowledgeable in Continuous Security, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery methodologies.

• Familiarity with international security standards and regulations, including NCSC, NIST, CIS, PCI, GDPR, OWASP ASVS, HIPAA, and SOC2.

• Understanding of common cyber security attack vectors (e.g., OWASP Top 10, SQL, XSS, XXE, MITM).

• Strong communication skills.

• Proven experience in managing, mentoring, and coaching team members.

• Competence in programming or scripting across Windows/Linux/MacOS.

• Keeps informed about emerging threats and attack types.
