Lead QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance testing strategies, standards, plans, reports, and quality assurance processes.

• Organize and oversee test design and implementation tasks for both yourself and the entire QA team (8-10 members).

• Conduct analyses of test results and coverage factors, providing comprehensive reports.

• Create and execute tests for end-to-end scenarios, customer-reported issues, and other externally initiated sources.

• Engage in requirements discussions to identify any missing, incorrect, or unclear requirements.

• Ensure effective communication with project teams regarding test status, issues, and deployment risks.

• Collaborate with development and project management to resolve issues, manage changes, and mitigate risks.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related IT discipline, along with 5 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree.

• Over 8 years of experience in functional, non-functional, regression, and acceptance testing.

• Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies and standards, ideally supported by relevant certifications.

• Proficient in working with software specifications and documentation.

• In-depth understanding of all phases of Agile and software release processes.

• Exceptional analytical, debugging, planning, organizational, and communication skills.

• Demonstrated experience in leading QA teams and mentoring QA engineers.

• Proven ability to drive QA process enhancements and advocate for testing best practices.

• Required understanding of database and behavior-driven testing; experience with MongoDB and Databricks testing is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and JIRA.

• Strong collaboration, reporting, and communication skills, with the capacity to work effectively across development, product, and production support teams.

• Experience in web application testing.

• Ability to think outside the box and identify system vulnerabilities during functional testing.

• Detail-oriented and comfortable collaborating with developers, product owners, and other project stakeholders.

• Should have experience working in an offshore model.

• ** Nice to have:**

• Experience with Playwright and Selenium.

• Testing experience with healthcare applications is a plus.

• Familiarity with testing AI-powered features and applications.

• Experience utilizing AI-assisted testing tools to enhance test design, automation, and execution.
