Lead QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Create and implement automation and performance solutions that align with organizational standards, while developing reliable, reusable, and maintainable automated regression suites and test harnesses.

• Develop tools and frameworks using high-quality code to streamline testing scenarios.

• Design and formulate test plans and test cases based on functional and design specifications, execute those test cases, and analyze and report test outcomes to the teams.

• Collaborate with development teams to deliver business functionality punctually with the required quality that fulfills acceptance criteria.

• Serve as a test lead, orchestrating the tasks of other testing personnel and delegating responsibilities to meet project deadlines.

• Utilize strong testing expertise to guide and support project team members.

• Review and endorse the contributions of project team members in drafting scripts, expected results, test outcomes, and defect descriptions.

• Ensure adherence to best practices and maintain the schedule of testing activities.

• Concentrate on developing efficient solutions for Web, Services/APIs, and Database testing needs.

• Engage in internal and cross-team meetings, project scoping, functional reviews, test specifications, and technical evaluations for designated projects within an Agile framework.

• Participate in requirements reviews and architecture/design evaluations, focusing on test automation and performance strategies while ensuring adherence to best practices.

• Actively take part in functional, system, and regression testing activities.

• Gather quality assurance metrics and data to generate insights and conclusions.

• Assess and execute risk analysis for quality delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.

• Over 8 years of experience in software testing across all testing phases, including test planning, execution, and closure.

• Strong comprehension of QA methodologies, testing strategies, and industry best practices.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automation QA Tester.

• At least 5 years of experience in developing, maintaining, and executing automation tests using tools like Selenium or Playwright (Python preferred).

• Over 5 years of experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred).

• Proficient in working with SOAP and REST services, along with an understanding of SOA architecture.

• Experience in creating and maintaining automation frameworks is preferred.

• Required experience in using SQL to query databases.

• Familiarity with distributed source control systems such as Git.

• Background in test data management techniques.

• Experience with change management and defect tracking tools.

• Passion for becoming a domain expert and learning new technologies.

• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.

• High levels of confidentiality; ability to manage sensitive information with integrity and trust.

• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure and experience in testing micro-services, containers, and Dockers is preferred.
