Lead NetOps Engineer

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Design and oversee intricate network solutions across data centers, remote locations, and hybrid cloud environments, incorporating AWS, GCP, advanced firewall, routing, switching, VPN, and BGP technologies.

β€’ Execute sophisticated infrastructure as code methodologies, including remote state management, modules, and workspaces.

β€’ Create automation and infrastructure as code solutions for diverse network platforms, featuring FortiGate, Aruba, and Juniper.

β€’ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate production challenges while promoting a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

β€’ Serve as a technical mentor and coach, offering guidance and constructive feedback to assist engineers in their professional growth and performance.

β€’ Play a pivotal role in defining the team’s technical roadmap and engineering direction while nurturing a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

β€’ Participate in the on-call rotation, taking responsibility for incident resolution and providing senior-level escalation support during critical outages.

β€’ Ensure the health, performance, and security of our global infrastructure across hybrid environments using observability tools such as Datadog.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a suitable combination of education, experience, and training.

β€’ Minimum of 5 years of network administration experience involving routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and routing and switching protocols, including at least 3 years of cloud networking expertise across AWS, GCP, and hybrid data center integration.

β€’ Demonstrated capability to architect, construct, and scale complex network infrastructures.

β€’ A solid history of mentoring engineers, leading design reviews and change initiatives, and making impactful technical decisions across cross-functional teams.

β€’ Practical experience with Aruba switching and FortiGate firewalls, coupled with a robust understanding of BGP, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

β€’ Proven experience with infrastructure as code, Git-based workflows (GitOps), and advanced scripting in Python and Bash.

β€’ Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog and hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, including Claude, Codex, and Gemini.

β€’ Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities, with the capacity to influence technical roadmaps, align cross-functional teams, clarify complex infrastructure concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and cultivate engineering talent through coaching and guidance.

β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the poise to lead the resolution of critical production issues.
