Lead ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Oversee extensive machine learning projects and products from their initial concept to full production, managing the entire lifecycle including design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

• Make crucial architectural decisions to guarantee that solutions are scalable, efficient, and maintainable while balancing both business and technical considerations.

• Foster collaboration among machine learning and engineering teams to ensure the success of products, influencing technical discussions and decisions at every level.

• Design and develop cutting-edge machine learning pipelines and models that have a significant impact on millions of users, generating tangible business value.

• Establish technical standards and spearhead the creation of scalable, testable, and high-performance applications.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to fellow machine learning engineers, nurturing the development of a robust Machine Learning Engineering organization.

• Engage in systems that influence millions of users daily, scaling machine learning solutions to process billions of data points and conduct millions of inferences per second.

• Acquire experience in architecting and scaling sophisticated machine learning solutions for real-world challenges, going beyond conventional methods found in research papers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in developing and maintaining large-scale production machine learning systems, with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Demonstrated experience as the owner or a key contributor to products utilized by tens of thousands of customers, capable of making intricate design decisions.

• Proficiency in machine learning algorithms, productionizing ML models, and scaling systems to manage substantial data volumes.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with innovative approaches to tackling technical challenges.

• Experience in leading technical discussions, driving decisions, and establishing technical standards for a team.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Knowledge of modern orchestration platforms (such as Kubernetes), containerization, microservice design, and distributed systems.

• Capability to identify, define, and break down complex research problems while driving innovative solutions that meet both business and technical objectives.
