Lead Medical Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Managing the billing processes within the revenue cycle

• Ensuring the billing team performs their daily responsibilities accurately

• Confidently executing all aspects of the billing cycle workflows with precision

• Involved in the recruitment and training of new staff

• Overseeing the accuracy of patient demographic data entry

• Ensuring the billing team secures necessary referrals and pre-authorizations

• Supporting the billing team with data entry and ensuring timely 72-hour billing

• Assisting with MaxRVU billing when coders are unavailable

• Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness

• Preparing, reviewing, and submitting claims using billing software

• Following up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe

• Reporting any billing discrepancies to management for further staff training

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Revenue Cycle with Rural Physicians Group

• Must possess strong computer skills in Patient Accounting systems

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, or an equivalent qualification is preferred

• An Associate’s degree or certifications are advantageous
