Lead Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

• Play an essential role in the design, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure.

• Lead teams, develop technology strategies, and ensure the reliability and security of systems.

• Create scalable infrastructure solutions in partnership with Infrastructure and Architecture teams.

• Establish strategies for infrastructure solutions that are highly available and fault-tolerant.

• Design, manage, and support intricate enterprise storage solutions and backup platforms.

• Oversee the deployment and maintenance of virtual server environments and cloud computing resources.

• Support enterprise network infrastructure while ensuring optimal system performance.

• Guide and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, promoting growth and collaboration.

• Implement security protocols and ensure adherence to industry standards.

• Use monitoring tools to detect potential issues and enhance infrastructure for cost efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering.

• At least 2 years in a leadership or senior technical position.

• Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise data storage platforms (NetApp, EMC) and backup applications (Commvault).

• Practical experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and cloud computing services (Azure VMs, Azure Virtual Desktop).

• Strong understanding of enterprise network technologies (Cisco Route/Switch, Arista, Fortinet, Aryaka SD-WAN, Juniper Mist Wireless).

• Proficient in cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.

• Expertise in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and Infrastructure as Code/configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible).

• Familiarity with ITIL processes and IT service management, with a preference for ServiceNow.
