This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Define, manage, and enhance the enterprise ontology, taxonomy, and semantic framework.
• Convert business objectives into a cohesive information architecture, which includes canonical entities, attributes, relationships, and scalable classification systems that underpin our Agentic AI solutions.
• Design and uphold knowledge graph relationships that illustrate how agreements, parties, processes, and data interconnect throughout the organization.
• Implement taxonomy, ontology, and metadata structures in priority systems and workflows to enhance retrieval accuracy, consistency, explainability, and overall outcomes for Agentic AI.
• Define and sustain enterprise taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and content boundaries to guarantee consistent labeling and discoverability across products, data, and content.
• Develop and maintain a governed business glossary featuring canonical definitions, synonyms, and reference rules utilized across Product, GTM, AI, and Analytics.
• Configure and manage semantic platforms like Semaphore or PoolParty, concentrating on the modeling and governance of taxonomies, ontologies, and semantic metadata.
• Ensure that semantic assets are accessible in machine-readable formats to support AI, semantic search, analytics, and self-service reporting applications.
• Establish and expand semantic standards across distributed teams, leveraging influence, credibility, and effective strategic communication to ensure governance company-wide.
• Collaborate with analytics, reporting, data platform, product, and AI teams to harmonize definitions and promote convergence on shared semantic models.
• Create and articulate a multi-year semantic architecture roadmap that aligns with Docusign’s AI, data, and product strategies.
• Implement governance processes for semantic assets, including documentation, lineage, versioning, and change-management workflows.
• Define and execute review and certification processes for new or updated terms, concepts, and relationships to maintain a reliable and auditable semantic layer.
• Establish clear contribution and stewardship models so that distributed teams understand how to request changes and adopt standards at scale.
• Assess the impact of information architecture on Agentic AI and search performance, refining knowledge models based on actual usage and feedback.
• Develop and monitor key health and adoption metrics for enterprise ontology, taxonomy, and semantic standards.
• Mentor cross-functional partners on best practices for structured information and semantic modeling.
• Provide thought leadership on how semantic architecture can facilitate new AI, analytics, and product capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in taxonomy, ontology, and enterprise information architecture within a complex technology environment.
• Proven experience in operationalizing information architecture models into production systems with measurable outcomes.
• Familiarity with search systems, knowledge graphs, or AI-driven systems and an understanding of how structure influences performance.
• Experience in configuring semantic modeling tools and metadata management platforms like Semaphore or PoolParty.
• Proven track record in establishing governance practices for semantic assets, including documentation, versioning, and review workflows.
