This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
β’ Develop and deploy features from the database schema and backend services all the way to the user-facing web client.
β’ Create new domain modules utilizing our established architectural patterns and conventions.
β’ Assume responsibility for multi-tenant accuracy by writing migrations that adhere to Row-Level Security, respecting the RLS transaction context in queries, and following the persist/flush discipline.
β’ Integrate with shared platform services including background jobs, real-time updates, file storage, email, document intelligence, and authentication and authorization.
β’ Effectively utilize AI tools such as Claude Code (and similar) to streamline routine tasks, while exercising discretion on what to accept, adapt, or reject.
β’ Enhance quality through code reviews, type-safety, performance discipline (avoiding N+1 queries, lazy loading, and ensuring parallel APIs), and adherence to our trunk-based development workflow.
β’ Collaborate across functions with product managers, tech leads, QA, UX, and domain experts to translate functional requirements into well-structured software.
β’ Contribute to the evolution of the platform by proposing improvements to shared libraries (DTOs, validation rules, i18n, shared constants), the metadata system, and developer tools.
β’ Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, specifically in building production web applications.
β’ Proficient in TypeScript for both frontend and backend development, with the ability to navigate seamlessly between the two.
β’ Strong experience in React (including hooks, component composition, performance, and state management) within a substantial application.
β’ Server-side experience with Node.js, preferably using a structured framework like NestJS; Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks are acceptable.
β’ Proficient in relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, with skills in schema design, indexing, and writing migrations. Familiarity with an ORM (MikroORM, TypeORM, Prisma, Hibernate, etc.) is a plus.
β’ Experience in multi-tenant or SaaS environments and an understanding of the importance of tenant isolation (RLS, scoped queries, or equivalent methodologies).
β’ Familiar with modern delivery practices including Git, pull requests, CI/CD, code review, testing, and trunk-based or short-lived branch workflows.
β’ Proven productivity using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar), with the ability to provide specific examples of their usage, benefits, and instances of overriding them.
β’ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with effective participation in code reviews. Capable of explaining trade-offs, providing constructive feedback, and documenting decisions.
