Lead - Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee product development, problem-solving, and proof-of-concept initiatives within your designated stream of work.

• Collaborate directly with customers and stakeholders—including users, data scientists, and cross-functional teams—to design and implement effective solutions.

• Strategically prioritize tasks while balancing quality, technical debt, and delivery timelines.

• Advocate for delivery excellence by enhancing predictability, quality, and throughput.

• Analyze complex engineering challenges and provide robust solutions.

• Enhance code architecture with an emphasis on testability and maintainability.

• Make informed trade-offs between elegant code and rapid delivery—our focus is on shipping.

• Remove obstacles and support team members in overcoming challenges that affect delivery.

• Set a benchmark for engineering best practices and first-principles thinking—be a role model in craftsmanship for the team.

• Develop AI-driven solutions, including the development, fine-tuning, and integration of LLMs to improve products, automate tasks, and foster innovation.

• Contribute to team building by mentoring engineers and recruiting other talented individuals.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in software engineering.

• In-depth expertise with a proven history in a similar leadership role.

• Experience building applications from the ground up using object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python).

• Proven experience in solving 0-to-1 problems, identifying Product-Market Fit, and iterating with users to provide solutions.

• Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages and paradigms—specific languages are not a constraint.

• Excellent understanding of software engineering principles.

• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering systems and architectures.

• Hands-on experience across the entire stack—front-end, back-end, data pipelines, and AI models.

• Understanding of how businesses leverage technology for profitability.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a capacity to lead by example in both technical and operational excellence.

• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team development.

• Outstanding communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
