Lead Engineer, R&D Software Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee software quality engineering initiatives within a dynamic Agile development setting

• Analyze product requirements and engineering specifications to establish test strategies and determine the scope of testing efforts

• Create, implement, execute, and maintain both manual and automated tests for web, API, desktop, and mobile applications

• Ensure that test results are documented, reported, and effectively communicated to stakeholders, emphasizing risks and quality concerns

• Offer technical leadership, mentoring, and support to test engineers and junior team members

• Work closely with software engineers, quality engineering peers, and product teams to address issues discovered during testing

• Develop and uphold repeatable, high-quality test plans based on functional requirements, use cases, and system designs

• Diagnose test failures across various environments, including log analysis and database queries

• Perform peer reviews of test cases and strive for continuous improvement in testing processes, methodologies, and tools

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience

• 7 years of experience in software quality engineering, including leading or mentoring teams

• Extensive experience in Agile environments (such as Scrum or SAFe) and familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud-based solutions

• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and software testing methodologies (functional, integration, system, regression)

• Practical experience with test automation, scripting languages (such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby), and SQL

• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools; experience with Polarion is a plus

• Familiarity with test automation tools and best practices; Katalon experience is an advantage

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across teams

• Knowledge of FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 11, and cGxP is beneficial.
