Lead Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• You will contribute to the development and leadership of initiatives involving: Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript frontend applications for creators, buyers, affiliates, and internal operations.

• Bun/TypeScript services for payment processing, affiliate management, webhook delivery, contact synchronization, event schemas, and service orchestration.

• Redefine robust workflows for financial transactions, idempotency, retries, and prolonged business processes.

• Utilize Hono, Drizzle, Postgres, Zod, AJV for typed service APIs and stringent event contracts.

• Implement Supabase/PostgREST for community engagement and gamification features.

• Manage Stripe Connect payment and payout procedures.

• Employ EventBridge/SQS/outbox patterns to ensure dependable domain events.

• Leverage OpenTelemetry and Aient for trace-driven debugging and insights in production environments.

• Utilize Playwright, Vitest, Docker Compose E2E stacks to ensure high-confidence delivery.

• Apply Terraform/ECS/GitHub Actions for cloud infrastructure management and deployment.

• You will take complete ownership from code development to production. This means going beyond just merging a PR: you will grasp how the service is constructed, deployed, monitored, debugged, and rolled back.

• You will also assist us in excelling at agentic software engineering: breaking down tasks for AI agents, thoroughly reviewing their outputs, maintaining standards, and leveraging automation to accelerate progress without compromising quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive TypeScript experience across both frontend and backend systems.

• In-depth practical knowledge of React/Next.js and contemporary frontend architecture.

• Experience in designing distributed systems that utilize events, queues, retries, idempotency, and observability.

• Comfortable working with payment systems, ledger-like architectures, payouts, compliance-intensive processes, or domains requiring high accuracy.

• Strong instincts for testing: unit, integration, contract, and E2E testing.

• Ability to lead engineers through uncertain situations without resorting to unnecessary processes.

• Genuine interest in AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows.

• Practical mindset: you can act quickly while recognizing where shortcuts may lead to technical debt.

• Strong DevOps capabilities: CI/CD, Docker, cloud infrastructure, runtime configuration, deployment safety, observability, incident debugging, and production accountability.

• Proven experience in owning systems comprehensively, from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
