Lead Electrical Engineer – Supplier Quality, BESS Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Ensure quality for designated suppliers, including the implementation of quality plans.

• Identify and select suppliers through thorough qualification processes.

• Take ownership of supplier outcomes, driving enhancements using supplier scorecards.

• Manage supplier audits to ensure compliance and initiate improvement plans when necessary.

• Lead Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) and Supplier Quality Development (SQD) initiatives for assigned suppliers.

• Assess, evaluate, and qualify suppliers using structured qualification methods.

• Plan and conduct supplier audits, ensuring adherence to relevant industrial and regulatory standards.

• Manage supplier scorecards and analyze performance data.

• Promote problem-solving by utilizing root cause analysis and systematic problem-solving techniques.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in relevant Job Family Group(s)/Function(s).

• Experience in battery technology supply chains, particularly in the automotive EV/battery, wind, power electronics, or energy storage industries.

• Hands-on expertise in quality methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, COPQ, ISO 9001, CAPA, 8D, or their equivalents.

• Familiar with engineering drawings and technical specifications pertinent to electrical and mechanical components.

• Proven experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments.

• Knowledge of supplier scorecards and performance management systems.

• Proactive and self-motivated individual.
