This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead hands-on engineering initiatives and oversee the migration of production workloads from outdated hosted infrastructure to AWS.
• Identify and resolve intricate issues related to connectivity, routing, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, security groups, and hybrid networking.
• Evaluate environments that are undocumented or partially documented, pinpoint dependencies and obstacles, and develop migration strategies and technical workflows.
• Design, construct, troubleshoot, and enhance production AWS environments utilizing infrastructure as code methodologies.
• Assist in phasing out legacy CentOS 7 systems and transitioning applications to a contemporary platform.
• Implement and refine CI/CD practices, monitoring, observability, secrets management, configuration management, and deployment automation processes.
• Create and execute AWS-based disaster recovery solutions, manage replication dependencies, establish recovery protocols, and develop operational runbooks.
• Provide support for migration rehearsals, rollback planning, production cutovers, validation, and stabilization post-migration.
• Independently outline and execute technical deliverables, identify risks, and facilitate resolutions to issues.
• Generate architecture documentation, migration strategies, operational runbooks, dependency maps, and materials for knowledge transfer.
• Offer senior technical guidance to customer engineers and members of the EverOps team.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive production experience with AWS.
• Profound hands-on expertise in designing, operating, troubleshooting, and migrating production workloads within AWS.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, DNS, NAT, firewalls, VPNs, proxies, load balancers, security groups, network ACLs, and AWS networking services.
• Production experience with VPC architecture, Transit Gateway, Route 53, ALB/NLB, PrivateLink/VPC endpoints, VPN connectivity, and multi-account or hybrid network environments.
• Demonstrated experience in executing migrations involving data centers, hosted infrastructures, lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or cloud modernization with live production workloads.
• Advanced skills with Terraform and version-controlled infrastructure as code.
• Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting capabilities, including experience with legacy environments and operating system modernization.
• Practical experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, or similar platforms.
• Experience in implementing and troubleshooting monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting solutions such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools.
• Proficient scripting skills in Python, Bash, or comparable languages.
• Experience managing business-critical production environments where uptime, change control, and meticulous migration planning are essential.
• Capability to independently determine priorities, establish a forward path, and execute tasks with minimal oversight.
• Ability to articulate technical risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and recommendations to engineers and technical leadership.
