Lead Developer, Ruby

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Provide technical guidance for a team and oversee its management.

• Design, develop, and test innovative features for the platform.

• Maintain and enhance the codebase, address bugs, and refactor as necessary.

• Advocate for standards and best practices to elevate overall quality.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and support the well-being of the team.

• Organize team rituals and ensure consistency and predictability.

• Collaboratively define the technical roadmap alongside Product.

• Oversee reliability initiatives and lead maintenance for high-risk changes.

• Establish and communicate team performance metrics.

• Direct incident response efforts and prioritize follow-up actions.

• Engage in recruiting and selection activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails (5+ years) using TDD/BDD methodologies.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or another relational database.

• Experience in building and consuming APIs, along with maintaining applications.

• Some exposure to additional programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.

• Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Advanced understanding of the HTTP protocol.

• Proficient in written English and possess good spoken English abilities.

• Basic knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Self-sufficient in using Linux or macOS.

• Previous experience in a technical leadership role.

• Capability to conduct one-on-one meetings and offer constructive feedback.

• Clear and concise written communication skills.
