Lead Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the creation and implementation of applications and services within TransUnion’s global platform ecosystem.

• Offer technical guidance while mentoring and expanding a team of engineers.

• Establish a new engineering team in Costa Rica.

• Collaborate with teams located in the US and India.

• Define and steer the technical direction, architecture, and design of applications and services.

• Oversee the development of scalable, cloud-based solutions and platform components.

• Maintain high standards of code quality, performance, and security.

• Provide practical technical support to the team as needed.

• Drive comprehensive project ownership from design through to delivery.

• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and teamwork.

• Work in partnership with global teams across the US, India, and Costa Rica.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in software development.

• More than 5 years of experience in technical leadership and/or people management roles.

• Demonstrated experience in leading teams with direct reports.

• Strong background in application design and system architecture.

• Proficient in cloud-based development environments.

• Experience with service-oriented architectures and APIs.

• Practical experience in .NET or Java (or both).

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Preferred: Experience in leading distributed or global teams.

• Familiarity with development tools such as VS Code.

• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Background in platform or large-scale enterprise environments.

• Knowledge of AI tools utilized in software development workflows.
