Lead Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead CRISP-DM projects alongside a team of 3 data scientists in the following areas -

• Selecting features, constructing, and fine-tuning classifiers (logistic regression or RF-based propensity models) and recommenders utilizing machine learning techniques.

• Employ data mining using advanced methods - Automate scoring with machine learning techniques, develop recommendation systems, and enhance the features utilized by recommendation and propensity modeling algorithms.

• Augment the company’s data with third-party information sources as necessary.

• Improve data collection processes to encompass information pertinent to building analytical systems.

• Process, cleanse, and validate the integrity of data used for analysis and conduct thorough exploratory data analysis (we generate our own training data for our models).

• Perform ad-hoc analyses and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

• Develop recommendation and propensity models and monitor their performance, particularly to address concept drift.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in the field.

• Proficient in machine learning techniques and algorithms, including k-NN, Naive Bayes, Ensemble methods like XGBoost, Decision Forests, and progressing towards deep learning methods using TensorFlow, especially for NLP tasks such as word embeddings and topic discovery.

• Experienced with common data science toolkits, including Python, scikit-learn, numpy, pandas, plotly, TensorFlow, ElasticSearch, and Auto-ML platforms like AWS Sagemaker.

• Strong proficiency in query languages such as SQL.

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases, including Elasticsearch and Graph DBs like Neo4j.

• Solid understanding of applied statistical skills, encompassing distributions, statistical testing, regression, and robust exploratory data analysis skills.

• Data-driven personality with a strong appreciation for the business context of your work.

• Enthusiasm for working in the tech domain, e.g., data center analytics, and an understanding of macro factors influencing the market for computing, software, and cloud adoption.
