Lead Data Platform Engineer – LATAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, evolution, and modernization of end-to-end data platforms, encompassing pipelines, Lakehouse architectures, governance, and data quality.

• Design modern architectures utilizing Informatica IDMC and Databricks Lakehouse.

• Direct strategies for migrating legacy data platforms, defining the approach (Lift & Shift or reengineering), validation, and production deployment.

• Establish technical standards, best practices, and guidelines for engineering teams, providing technical leadership and mentorship.

• Design and implement solutions for Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Catalog, and Data Quality, ensuring their integration within the IDMC platform.

• Drive the adoption of Lakehouse architectures, Medallion Architecture, and Data Mesh.

• Manage the FinOps strategy for the platform, optimizing IPU consumption and cloud costs.

• Lead the modernization of workloads to Databricks using Delta Lake and IDMC for Databricks.

• Enable AI capabilities through CLAIRE Agents and AI Agent Engineering.

• Serve as the primary technical reference for clients, Enterprise Architects, and CDOs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or Enterprise Data Architecture.

• Strong practical experience with Informatica IDMC and Databricks Lakehouse.

• Experience leading modernization and migration projects for enterprise data platforms.

• Advanced knowledge in Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Quality.

• Experience designing cloud-native architectures on Azure and/or AWS.

• Advanced understanding of Lakehouse Architecture, Medallion Architecture, and Data Mesh.

• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.

• Advanced English (C1) or higher (mandatory), with the capability to lead technical meetings and communicate directly with international clients.

• Experience in highly regulated industries, such as banking, financial services, or insurance.
