• Assume responsibility for core platform components, from data ingestion to reporting, with structured knowledge transfer as necessary.
• Establish comprehensive internal ownership of the newly developed cloud-native data platform.
• Enhance data quality controls, validation processes, and operational safeguards.
• Create a pragmatic post-migration roadmap concentrating on stability, scalability, data quality, cost efficiency, and business continuity.
• Fortify monitoring, alerting, and observability for business-critical data workflows and IVW/OEWA delivery pipelines.
• Manage the end-to-end data platform roadmap and ensure its execution, from architectural decisions to daily platform operations.
• Take responsibility for data ingestion, streaming processing, batch aggregation, data modeling, quality assurance, delivery, and reporting logic.
• Guarantee reliability, scalability, and performance through effective monitoring, observability, and incident management practices.
• Continuously refine the new GCP-native platform with an emphasis on stability, cost efficiency, maintainability, and business continuity.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, and Leadership to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Promote the adoption of AI-native engineering, including AI-assisted coding, refactoring, testing, documentation, and code reviews, while establishing safe and effective usage standards.
• Engage with external specialists when beneficial and foster sustainable internal ownership of all critical platform components.
• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or Platform Engineering within production environments.
• Proficient in Go (Golang) is essential, as our core backend systems, including ingress collectors, Pub/Sub processors, Dataflow jobs, batch loaders, controllers, and CLI tools, are developed in Go.
• Extensive hands-on experience with GCP Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
• Strong SQL and analytical data modeling capabilities; familiarity with SQLMesh (or similar dbt-style orchestration tools) is a considerable advantage.
• Practical experience with Terraform/IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized workloads (Docker; serverless Cloud Run, not Kubernetes clusters).
• Experience with Protobuf or similar schema definition and serialization frameworks.
• Familiarity with IVW, OEWA, or comparable digital audience measurement standards, or a genuine interest in the web analytics domain with the ability to adapt quickly.
• Experience with AI coding assistants and coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, or similar) and sound judgment in evaluating AI-generated code for quality, security, and operational risk.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent in German (C1) is required; good English for technical documentation and collaboration with saas.group.
