Lead Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of data engineers engaged in ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and machine learning enablement.

• Take ownership of team deliverables throughout sprints, encompassing planning, prioritization, quality assurance, and stakeholder communication.

• Establish and uphold robust engineering practices related to code reviews, testing, observability, and documentation.

• Collaborate across functions with Analytics, Business Intelligence, Revenue Operations, and business stakeholders in Marketing and Sales.

• Guide technical architecture choices for our data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Composer).

• Model and transform data utilizing dbt and SQL to support reporting, attribution, and optimization requirements.

• Ensure data security, compliance, and scalability, particularly concerning first-party customer data.

• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, collaborative coding, and discussions about the technical roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in data engineering, including more than 2 years in people management or formal team leadership roles.

• Solid technical expertise in Python, Spark, Kafka, and orchestration tools such as Airflow.

• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, and Composer.

• Proficient in SQL and familiar with DBT for data modeling and documentation.

• Clear comprehension of data privacy and governance, including the safe management and segmentation of first-party data.

• Experience in agile environments, including sprint planning and ticket scoping.

• Exceptional communication abilities and a proven track record of collaborating across global teams.
