Lead Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Design and build robust, scalable systems using Python, emphasizing real-time applications.

• Create and execute big data solutions utilizing Kafka and Spark to manage high-throughput, real-time data streams.

• Spearhead the development of cutting-edge, impactful projects such as real-time tracking and optimization platforms, along with large-scale operational management solutions.

• Contribute to and enhance backend architecture.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams across various countries to deliver comprehensive solutions.

• Guide engineers and help establish technical direction and best practices for the data engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Kafka and real-time/streaming data architectures.

• Expertise in Python programming.

• Demonstrated success in designing and scaling distributed, high-throughput backend systems.

• Practical experience with big data and stream-processing frameworks (Spark or similar).

• Proficient in leading projects from inception to completion while collaborating with cross-border, cross-functional teams.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different time zones and cultures.
