Lead Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert knowledge on the latest principles and practices related to architecture and data management systems.

• Guide and mentor a team of data engineers in the development and upkeep of scalable, automated data pipelines.

• Design and implement an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) utilizing technologies such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.

• Create and develop data integration solutions.

• Ensure adherence to HIPAA and CMS interoperability standards through effective data governance, lineage, access controls, and encryption measures.

• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data architecture aligns with organizational objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in planning, designing, constructing, and deploying IT systems.

• At least seven (7) years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or cloud data architecture.

• A minimum of two (2) years in a technical leadership capacity.

• Knowledge of healthcare data standards and interoperability, including EDI X12, FHIR, and HL7.

• Proficiency in AWS or similar cloud platforms.

• Experience in data modeling within the information management domain, encompassing Medallion Architecture and Dimensional Data Modeling.

• Proven experience in architecting and implementing a Medallion Architecture-based Data Lakehouse with Bronze (Raw), Silver (Cleansed), and Gold (Aggregated) layers.
