This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Take full ownership of the cloud data platform from start to finish, encompassing environment provisioning, networking, security, automation, and operational readiness.
• Design and deploy cloud-native data pipelines and platform components that are scalable, observable, and cost-effective.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows, infrastructure, and application deployments utilizing Azure DevOps.
• Apply infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform/Bicep) to automate configurations for Snowflake, Azure services, networking, and security.
• Establish and manage orchestration and monitoring frameworks, including Prefect, ADF, or similar technologies.
• Develop API-driven integrations using MuleSoft to securely link cloud and on-premises systems.
• Lead the transition to Snowflake/Databricks, which includes re-architecting pipelines, data models, and operational workflows.
• Implement platform observability features, including logging, alerting, data quality checks, and operational dashboards.
• Diagnose complex issues within the cloud and data platform, ensuring reliability and uptime.
• Work collaboratively with architects and business partners to design cloud-ready, production-quality solutions.
• Provide mentorship to engineers on best practices in cloud engineering, DevOps, and data engineering.
• Assess and introduce new cloud capabilities, tools, and automation patterns to enhance platform maturity.
• Extensive experience as a Cloud Engineer or Cloud Platform Engineer with practical expertise in Azure.
• Profound experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning, RBAC, automation, and cost management.
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, and contemporary ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Familiarity with implementing infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep) for cloud and data platforms.
• Experience in setting up orchestration frameworks (Prefect, ADF, Airflow, Dagster).
• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Background in API-driven integrations (MuleSoft preferred).
• Comprehensive understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, and platform engineering.
• Capability to lead technical initiatives autonomously and influence platform-level decisions.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Experience with healthcare data is a plus.
