This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Carry out thorough psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and other groups served by Backpack Health.

• Assess ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other relevant clinical referral inquiries.

• Choose, administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological and diagnostic evaluations.

• Conduct clinical interviews and examine records and collateral information from caregivers, schools, providers, and other authorized entities.

• Create clear, prompt, and clinically accurate reports that include diagnostic impressions and tailored recommendations.

• Provide feedback to clients and caregivers to facilitate understanding of evaluation outcomes.

• Collaborate with Clinical, Operations, Billing, Credentialing, and executive leadership to initiate and grow the clinical psychology service line.

• Define referral standards, assessment workflows, documentation protocols, scheduling systems, and quality benchmarks.

• Develop effective, high-quality, and accessible psychological assessment procedures.

• Oversee assessment volume, reimbursement, staffing requirements, expenses, and workflow efficiency.

• Act as Backpack Health’s subject matter expert in psychological assessments.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance quality, access, efficiency, and financial viability.

• Assist in identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring a qualified Psychological Associate.

• Provide clinical supervision in accordance with state laws, licensing standards, ethical guidelines, and company policies.

• Review delegated assessment tasks, scoring, interpretation, documentation, and recommendations.

• Ensure services remain within each clinician’s training, expertise, and allowed scope of practice.

• Transition into broader supervisory and leadership roles as the program grows.

• Maintain adherence to HIPAA, payer guidelines, state regulations, professional ethics, documentation standards, and test-security protocols.

• Collaborate with therapists, psychiatric providers, care coordinators, schools, and other care-team members.

• Engage in quality assurance, clinical audits, utilization reviews, and corrective action initiatives.

• Identify and report clinical, operational, regulatory, reimbursement, or staffing risks.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Active and unrestricted psychologist license in at least one state where Backpack Health operates.

• Willingness and eligibility to obtain licensure in Georgia, Michigan, Virginia, and Illinois.

• Proven experience in conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations.

• Experience in assessing ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other developmental, behavioral, emotional, or cognitive conditions.

• Strong understanding of standardized psychological testing, diagnostic formulation, report writing, informed consent, test security, and professional ethics.

• Previous experience working with children, adolescents, and families is highly preferred.

• Prior supervision experience with Psychological Associates, trainees, or assessment professionals is preferred.

• Experience with Medicaid, managed care, telehealth, multi-state practice, payer authorization, or psychological testing reimbursement is advantageous.

• Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and collaborative abilities.

• Capacity to work independently while effectively collaborating with clinical and operational leadership.

• Entrepreneurial attitude and eagerness to establish a new clinical program from the ground up.
