Lead Certification Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire.

📋 Description

• Oversee all regulatory certification processes for McIntosh products, encompassing safety, EMC/EMI, RF, environmental, and energy efficiency compliance.

• Formulate and implement certification strategies and testing plans in partnership with design, quality, and manufacturing teams.

• Engage directly with certification authorities, testing laboratories, and regulatory organizations.

• Evaluate and authorize test reports, risk assessments, and relevant technical documentation for global market applications.

• Keep current knowledge of relevant standards and ensure compliance is integrated from the initial design phases.

• Act as the internal subject-matter expert for regulatory design advice and pre-compliance testing initiatives.

• Collaborate with Corporate Compliance and Legal teams on environmental adherence for international markets.

• Manage the McIntosh certification database and compliance records, ensuring traceability and timely renewals.

• Assist with factory audits, production inspections, and change control to uphold certification validity throughout the product’s lifecycle.

• Guide engineers and technicians on compliance best practices and emerging regulatory developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.

• At least 7–10 years of experience in product compliance, testing, or certification engineering.

• Proven experience with audio, consumer electronics, or RF products.

• Comprehensive understanding of international safety and EMC standards and certification methodologies.

• Strong capability to interpret technical standards and convey requirements to design teams.

• Established experience collaborating with third-party testing laboratories and regulatory bodies.
