Lead Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and uphold scalable and secure systems and APIs that support high-impact applications utilized by millions of users in a real-time, always-on setting.

• Take charge of the entire development lifecycle, from defining the architecture of new features to decomposing workstreams and overseeing implementation.

• Lead by example by writing high-performance, thoroughly tested code that adheres to our stringent standards for reliability and scalability.

• Establish and uphold best practices regarding code quality, design patterns, testing, and system performance.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in production environments, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

• Collaborate across functions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure technical solutions align with strategic business objectives.

• Serve as a technical mentor and coach, offering guidance and feedback that empowers engineers to grow and excel in their work.

• Play an essential role in shaping the team’s roadmap and technical vision while promoting a robust engineering culture based on ownership and continuous learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in object-oriented backend development using languages like C#, with advanced knowledge of OOP principles, design patterns, and backend architecture.

• Demonstrated ability to architect, build, and scale distributed systems in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Extensive experience in developing and maintaining comprehensive automated test suites, including unit, integration, and performance tests, to ensure system resilience and scalability.

• A proven history of mentoring engineers, leading code and design reviews, and influencing significant technical decisions across cross-functional teams.

• A proactive attitude focused on continuous improvement, code quality, and promoting engineering best practices throughout teams.
