Lead Applied Scientist, Document Understanding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design, development, and deployment of document understanding systems in production.

• Create and implement semantic chunking models specifically for legal documents.

• Develop document enrichment systems utilizing taxonomies.

• Construct pipelines for knowledge graph development based on LLM technologies.

• Spearhead knowledge distillation initiatives aimed at model compression.

• Design evaluation frameworks that incorporate expert annotations.

• Contribute technical insights towards the AI strategy and roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• A PhD in Computer Science, AI, NLP, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of industry experience post-degree in deploying document understanding systems.

• Published works in notable conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, etc.

• Proficient in Python with production experience.

• In-depth, hands-on experience in document layout analysis and semantic chunking in production environments.

• Familiarity with hierarchical, multi-label document classification.

• Expertise in entity recognition, citation parsing, and constructing knowledge graphs from unstructured text.

• Experience in knowledge distillation and model compression techniques.
