This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Responsible for Application Engineering pertaining to the Power Conversion General Industrial and Oil & Gas solution portfolio.
• Create technical solutions for large Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive Systems reaching up to 80MW, substantial Static Frequency Converters of 100MVA+, and large STATCOMs of 100MVAr+, along with eBOPs.
• Assess the customer RFP specifications received and formulate technical solutions that mitigate risks.
• Develop comprehensive technical proposals, engage in discussions, and obtain customer approval for the proposed technical solution.
• Conduct sizing calculations for MV VFD/SFC/STATCOM and Converter transformers.
• Compile detailed RFQ specifications for each piece of equipment.
• Execute bid evaluations on various received quotations and align them technically as required for the bidding process.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to pinpoint technical and project risks and devise as well as implement a risk mitigation strategy.
• Effectively promote GEV Power Conversion's technical solutions to customers.
• Assist in customer meetings by highlighting technical product differentiators.
• Support the GEV commercial risk management process and all aspects of the Inquiry to Order process.
• Partner with third-party industrial collaborators to expand growth opportunities.
• Enhance technical solutions through Design To Cost (DTC) methodologies and improve as-sold margins for the business.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of technical experience with a major Power Conversion industry OEM, focusing on large water-cooled Variable Frequency Drive Systems over 10MW with complex applications in the Industrial/Oil & Gas sectors.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by the business (up to 30% of the time).
• Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Comprehensive business acumen, including commercial, technical, and program execution capabilities.
• Familiarity with various power conversion solutions available in the market across different industries.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Customer-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to quickly address customer needs.
• Strong coordination and influencing abilities.
• Understanding of customer financial drivers and requirements.
• Proficient in using analytical software and sales tools (CMS, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
