This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Generate payment reports and analyze payment data to extract insights and evaluate performance.
• Deliver regular updates and reports to management and stakeholders, translating intricate technical findings into accessible business narratives and recommendations for leadership.
• Aid in analyzing payment performance and health, triaging issues, and providing recommendations for optimal solutions and enhancements.
• Design, implement, and assess experiments to measure the impact of payment strategies, product modifications, and process improvements.
• Collaborate on Financial Risk Management, addressing losses, chargebacks, and other cost components, while automating payment processes.
• Support initiatives aimed at optimizing the entire payments journey by pinpointing pain points, friction areas, and opportunities for improvement.
• Work together to advocate for Host and Guest interests, enhancing the payment experience, amplifying voices, and addressing concerns with significant and measurable outcomes.
• Assist in developing new payment strategies to balance financial risk and user experience for various seller segments, leveraging advanced data analytics and AI/ML techniques to inform strategic decisions.
• Utilize experience across related payment risk domains (trust & safety, identity, fraud, compliance) to provide cross-functional insights and identify systemic patterns or opportunities.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the payments sector, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation.
• Monitor payment trends, recognize areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance payment processing.
• Offer guidance to maintain a robust and reliable payments infrastructure, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
• A minimum of 8 years of industry experience in business analytics along with a degree (Masters or PhD preferred) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research).
• Experience supporting payments teams and/or working closely with payment organizations, with proven exposure to multiple payment risk domains such as trust & safety, identity verification, fraud prevention, chargebacks, regulatory compliance, and financial risk management.
• Proficient in SQL and highly skilled in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R).
• Familiarity with non-experimental causal inference methods, experimentation, and machine learning techniques, ideally within a multi-sided platform context.
• Working knowledge of schema design and high-dimensional data modeling (ETL frameworks like Airflow).
• Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities, capable of distilling highly technical work (model outputs, experimental results, complex data analyses) into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and business stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous conditions within a fast-growing, complex environment, comfortable making decisions with minimal planning, direction, and supervision. Capable of identifying issues both within and beyond immediate responsibilities and proposing solutions.
