This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Ensure the timely completion of period-end closing processes.
• Review, control, and oversee the reconciliation process on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Interpret, apply, and articulate complex accounting principles and their commercial implications.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies across various datasets and processes.
• Discover opportunities to enhance closing activities and drive process improvements.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy, timely settlement, and adherence to internal policies and accounting standards.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory balances, ensuring accurate valuation, prompt adjustments, and compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Oversee daily treasury operations, including cash positioning, liquidity planning, bank reconciliations, and ensuring optimal cash flow to meet business needs.
• Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with relevant tax regulations.
• Supervise the Fixed Asset register and Finance Master Data to ensure proper capitalization, accurate depreciation, high-quality data maintenance, and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Generate statutory financial reports according to local GAAP standards (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Identify and provide essential financial data to facilitate decision-making at the senior leadership level.
• Ensure the implementation and understanding of financial policies and procedures in accordance with local legislation and company rules.
• Maintain compliance with finance standards and practices.
• Lead all operational aspects and support junior accountants within the team.
• Actively participate in migrations and coordination, supervising transitions.
• Serve as the primary contact for auditors and controllers.
• Ensure internal controls are established and take a proactive role in risk mitigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Significant experience in multi-GAAP accounting.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• In-depth understanding of how operational processes relate to financial statements.
• Comprehension of the interdependencies of key financial metrics and ratios.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a highly professional demeanor when engaging with country affiliates and business partners.
• Highly organized with a consistent track record of meeting commitments.
• Ability to prioritize and reorganize to navigate roadblocks effectively.
• Comfortable executing in uncertain circumstances and adaptable to change in response to new information.
• Computer literacy in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle or SAP).
• Possession of an ACCA certificate.
• Proficiency in a second European language is advantageous.
