Law Enforcement and Digital Safety Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Cultivate and enhance strategic relationships with law enforcement, particularly focusing on the State of West Virginia, while also assisting with global outreach as necessary.

• Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement entities, including the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office.

• Design and implement educational initiatives for law enforcement agencies and other key external stakeholders (e.g., parent groups and educators) regarding Roblox’s platform safety measures, including our law enforcement response protocols and NCMEC CyberTip initiatives.

• Proactively identify, assess, analyze, and provide internal advice on law enforcement developments impacting Roblox in West Virginia.

• Strive to comprehend and empathetically address regional law enforcement concerns, while assisting in the internal documentation and scaling of resulting insights.

• Listen to and grasp the misconceptions and worries of West Virginia parents, caregivers, and educators related to Roblox's safety measures. You will offer guidance and education that empower these groups and foster confidence in Roblox’s commitment to product and policy safety, ensuring user safety and well-being.

• Develop a thorough understanding of Roblox's internal and external safety practices to identify, advocate for, and assist in implementing strategic safety improvements.

• Compose professional documentation for both internal and external audiences, underpinned by clear, concise, and multi-sourced investigations into platform safety.

• Collaborate and foster strong internal relationships across Legal & Advocacy, Safety, Product, and Communications teams (among others) to effectively address law enforcement emergencies, platform safety escalations, and comprehensive Roblox initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement, intelligence, government, trust and safety, or a related field.

• Extensive knowledge of the law enforcement community and relevant policymakers in the State of West Virginia, including current trends and challenges in online safety and policy (especially regarding child safety and region-specific considerations).

• A passion for and a proven history of excellent public speaking, last-minute travel, establishing and maintaining positive relationships, defining your own work processes, and contributing organizational value, regardless of the task's scale.

• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.

• The ability to navigate uncertainty, resilience to surmount challenges, and a strong internal motivation to manage multiple high-profile, time-sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment.
