This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Assist professional land surveyors, engineers, and project managers by producing precise survey drawings, maps, and technical documents.

• Create existing conditions plans, base maps, ALTA and boundary surveys, Certified Survey Maps, plats, legal exhibits, and record drawings.

• Generate digital terrain models, surfaces, contours, and breaklines based on field data.

• Prepare survey deliverables for municipal, transportation, roadway, utility, commercial, and residential projects.

• Support the development of subdivision plats, easement exhibits, legal descriptions, and construction staking calculations.

• Examine field notes, control reports, and survey calculations to ensure thoroughness and drafting precision.

• Collaborate with civil engineering design and land survey teams to synchronize survey information and maintain consistency throughout the project lifecycle.

• Implement company and client CAD standards, which include templates, layers, and file organization.

• Conduct research on deeds, plats, right-of-way documents, GIS data, and public records.

• Oversee multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, and perform quality-control reviews prior to the issuance of deliverables.


⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree, certificate, or equivalent training in surveying technology, civil engineering technology, drafting, or a related discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of 4 years of survey CAD experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable design software; experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or Revit is advantageous.

• Familiarity with land surveying principles, terminology, and field procedures.

• Knowledge of Illinois Department of Transportation standards.

• Ability to interpret field notes, plats, deeds, legal descriptions, and survey records.

• Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and fundamental surveying calculations.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate within a team and work independently when required.

• Willingness to enhance drafting workflows and develop professionally within a consulting environment.
