This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee and direct applications for union certification and decertification before the OLRB and similar provincial tribunals.
• Advise clients on organizing initiatives, neutrality agreements, card-check procedures, and strategies for decertification.
• Prepare applications, pleadings, and briefs; represent clients at hearings and mediations; negotiate settlements.
• Create or assess collective agreement language, workplace policies, and communications directed at clients regarding certification issues.
• Act as the main point of contact for in-house HR and legal teams, providing clear strategies to reduce legal risks during union activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues in employment standards, human rights, and occupational health & safety to deliver comprehensive advice.
• Juris Doctor (JD) or an equivalent degree, licensed to practice in Ontario.
• 3-6 years of experience in employer-side labour law, with a solid history in certification and decertification cases.
• Proven success at the OLRB or other comparable tribunals (Ontario, BC, Alberta, etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, Ontario Labour Relations Act, and related regulations.
• Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and oral advocacy capabilities.
• Capacity to manage several cases simultaneously, adhere to tight deadlines, and provide practical, business-oriented solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on client service.
