Kubernetes Platform Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical authority for the Brain Team, offering specialized knowledge in Kubernetes and networking concepts.

• Design, implement, maintain, and enhance production Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS.

• Spearhead platform networking projects utilizing Cilium and Istio, encompassing service mesh, ingress, network policies, and traffic management.

• Create and sustain infrastructure following Terraform and AWS best practices.

• Oversee the Kubernetes node lifecycle, autoscaling, and capacity planning using Karpenter.

• Diagnose intricate platform, networking, and application challenges across distributed systems.

• Partner with development, security, and platform teams to provide secure and scalable platform capabilities.

• Propel platform automation via GitOps, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.

• Assist the organization in achieving FISMA High compliance objectives by establishing secure-by-default platform standards and operational controls.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to enhance engineering productivity and platform automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering.

• More than 5 years of experience managing production Kubernetes environments.

• Profound expertise with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes architecture, and Linux administration.

• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes networking, with practical experience in Cilium and Istio.

• Strong proficiency in Terraform and AWS infrastructure.

• Experience in implementing GitOps workflows with GitHub and GitHub Actions.

• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams.

• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration abilities.
