Kubernetes Health, Drift, Rollout Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the operational automation that ensures the Kubernetes platform is reliable in production environments.

• Develop Kubernetes profile drift detection in relation to the anticipated cluster configuration.

• Monitor the health of nodes and clusters, including identifying degraded or failed states.

• Execute staged rollout automation for both OS image and Kubernetes upgrades.

• Manage canary deployments, percentage-based rollouts, halts, rollbacks, and recovery processes.

• Supervise node replacement procedures and update capacity following failures.

• Perform audits and operational diagnostics for all lifecycle actions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Go and experienced with Kubernetes client-go.

• Background in developing Kubernetes controllers, operators, reconcilers, health monitors, rollout systems, or automation for upgrades.

• In-depth knowledge of node lifecycle management, including cordon/drain processes, PodDisruptionBudgets, device plugins, cluster upgrades, and recovery from failures.

• Production operations mindset focused on rollback strategies, blast radius awareness, staged deployments, and observability.

• Experience in troubleshooting real Kubernetes incidents.

• Nice to Have: Familiarity with Argo Rollouts, Flux, Cluster API, Rancher, OpenShift, Kured, node remediation, edge clusters, or multi-site cluster management.
