This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Supports cooks and other staff as required while coordinating operations within a food service environment.
• Prepares meals and cooks a variety of items, including vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, and meats.
• Maintains appropriate stock levels of various products in preparation, serving, or storage areas, including service equipment.
• Supplies different food service areas with necessary products and materials.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, organizing them in designated storage areas efficiently.
• Washes items by hand or utilizing cleaning equipment.
• Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, and performs general maintenance in dining, kitchen, or storage areas.
• Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, mops, and restocks hallways, stairways, offices, laundry rooms, clinics, living spaces, off-site areas, common areas, restrooms, and other similar locations.
• May engage in light facility maintenance tasks.
• Assists with scheduled large cleaning projects and laundry responsibilities as needed.
• Disposes of waste from assigned locations.
• Arranges, dismantles, and cleans tables, snack bars, display cases, serving lines, and more.
• May occasionally prepare meals or cook various food items such as vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, and meats.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a commercial kitchen or documented vocational training demonstrating knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, food preparation, and general cleaning processes in a commercial setting.
• At least one (1) year of experience in commercial housekeeping is necessary.
• Must possess or obtain an Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Must successfully complete all pre-employment contract requirements, which may include drug testing, physical assessments, fit-for-duty evaluations, and hearing tests.
• Must be capable of collaborating effectively as part of a team with coworkers, customers, and clients.
• Must be able to make timely decisions with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to remain on your feet for 12 hours during each shift for the duration of the scheduled rotation.
• Must be comfortable living in dormitory-style accommodations and adhere to the cleanliness standards of the remote camp.
• The contract stipulates that employees must be able to speak, understand, read, and write in English.
• All employees are responsible for their expenses related to travel to the point of hire (Anchorage, AK), while the company covers scheduled trips to remote locations.
