Kernel Developer – Fully Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Ensure timely updates to existing kernels by applying security fixes and CVE patches.

• Offer support for current functionalities while also implementing new features.

• Optionally assist with automation through the creation of Python and Bash scripts (e.g., for testing CVE patches), although the primary responsibility for automation rests with a dedicated team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in C programming accompanied by exceptional debugging capabilities.

• Experience with core subsystems of the Linux kernel.

• Extensive familiarity with GDB and various other debuggers.

• Basic understanding of kernel ABI.

• Proficiency in Git for development, patch management, and branch handling.

• Outstanding problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.

• Strong skills in planning, time management, decision-making, presentation, and organization.

• Experience in automating routine tasks using AI tools.

• Familiarity with Python and shell scripting.

• Ability to excel in an agile, fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in English at an upper-intermediate level or higher to ensure effective communication of progress within the team.

• Nice to have:

• Expertise in CPU performance and power analysis.

• Comprehensive knowledge of CPU and cache architectures.

• Basic understanding of x86-64 Assembly (AT&T asm).

• Previous exposure to Jenkins.
