Junior/Mid Backend Engineer – AI Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• You will be involved in developing AI-driven systems that address genuine business challenges — integrating code, APIs, and AI technologies to produce dependable and scalable solutions.

• Construct and implement AI-enhanced workflows and backend systems.

• Create solutions that merge APIs, scripts, and AI agents.

• Collaborate with internal teams to identify issues and translate them into technical resolutions.

• Rapidly prototype — while also enhancing and solidifying systems over time.

• Optimize solutions (for example, minimizing token usage and boosting performance).

• Troubleshoot and modify systems when they do not perform as anticipated.

• Document your efforts and articulate your thought processes clearly.

• Strong programming fundamentals (preferably in Python).

• Proficient in working with APIs and developing integrations.

• Capable of building solutions independently without solely depending on AI tools.

• Excellent problem-solving skills — you can analyze and reason through challenges.

• Effective communication — you can clearly explain what you developed and the rationale behind it.

• A sense of curiosity and ownership — you enjoy discovering solutions rather than merely following directives.

• Experience in constructing backend systems, scripts, or APIs (highly valued).

• Involvement in projects that combined coding with AI (beyond just using prompt tools).

• Familiarity with the underlying workings of systems (not just their applications).

• Experience in debugging or refining existing systems (a plus).
