Junior Software Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design APIs that are user-friendly for developers and agents.

• Develop, test, and deploy applications to provide essential global communication services.

• Detect and address issues related to latency, scalability, and overall performance.

• Develop tools and AI agents to streamline revenue operations.

• Analyze and troubleshoot production issues by examining logs, data, and code to identify root causes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development using an object-oriented programming language.

• Proficiency in web application development with Python (FastAPI, aiohttp, or comparable frameworks).

• Experience in designing and constructing RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with asynchronous programming practices.

• Proficient in working with PostgreSQL and relational databases at scale, including schema migrations, raw SQL queries, and query optimization.

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies.

• Experience in a production environment that prioritizes high availability and uptime.

• Extensive understanding of microservice architecture patterns and potential pitfalls.

• Familiarity with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.

• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities — capable of navigating logs, querying databases, tracing distributed systems, and interpreting unfamiliar code to resolve issues.

• Comfortable taking ownership of services in a production setting, including on-call duties and incident management.

• Adept at utilizing AI coding agents during your investigative processes, while also knowing when to rely on your own expertise.
