Junior Mechatronics Design and Release Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of components from start to finish, ensuring they align with vehicle functional goals.

• Design, develop, package, time, validate, and launch interior components and systems.

• Collaborate with PDO and Sciences on the Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing.

• Oversee engineering changes.

• Maintain accurate bills of material.

• Provide support for prototype and production builds.

• Address issues and communicate technical product status to management.

• Manage CAD models using Teamcenter.

• Lead initiatives focused on weight reduction, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements.

• Assist vehicle assembly plants with technical product issues.

• Aid service teams in addressing field warranty issues and conducting root-cause analysis.

• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adherence to program and Electrical Development timelines and deliverables.

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of design and release processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an MBA.

• 1 to 3 years of experience in reviewing, validating, and releasing designs for automotive cockpit components.

• Experience in mechatronics, particularly with Manual Park Release, Active Damping Air Suspension, switches, sensors, lighting, seats, outside rearview mirrors, power hatch, liftgate, sunroof, or power top.

• General understanding of switches, electrical seat controls, sensors, electrical functions, electronic diagrams, software, and mechatronics component testing, including durability and thermal assessments.

• Background in infotainment, connectivity, or embedded commodities is advantageous.

• Familiarity with NX, CATIA V5, and Teamcenter.

• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.

• Understanding of PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R, and technical sheet management.

• Knowledge of hardware and software development for electrical modules.

• Experience in DFMEA and DVP&R creation and execution.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English for technical understanding and international team collaboration.

• Preferred: experience with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.

• Preferred: understanding of style freeze processes and theme evaluation.

• Preferred: in-plant experience with tool tryouts, assembly, or program launches.

• Preferred: familiarity with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949.

• A valid visa is optional.
