This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement AI-driven applications and automation tools across various platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure, and/or Anthropic/OpenAI APIs.
• Create external-facing applications, such as chatbots, customized to meet client requirements, providing AI-powered solutions that effectively support public health initiatives and government operations.
• Build tools that gather, consolidate, and analyze data from existing resources, automating manual processes through intelligent solutions.
• Design and execute retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to enhance intelligent, context-aware internal applications.
• Explore and integrate large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and new frameworks to address operational and public health issues.
• Develop lightweight internal applications and dashboards using tools such as AppScript or similar alternatives.
• Collaborate with the AI Committee Lead to translate public health needs from clients or end-users into specific technical requirements and measurable AI outcomes.
• Clearly communicate technical processes and concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Work closely with the AI Committee and program teams to identify and prioritize significant opportunities.
• Present insights, recommendations, and project progress to leadership and relevant project teams.
• Investigate new AI models and platforms to assist in selecting appropriate tools for various use cases.
• Establish testing and quality assurance protocols to ensure AI accuracy and reliability.
• Track the performance, cost, and reliability of deployed AI models and systems, making optimizations as necessary.
• Create and maintain documentation and best practices related to AI tools.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience along with a Bachelor's degree is required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• At least 1+ years of internship-level, relevant undergraduate coursework, or professional experience focused on building AI/ML applications or similar software engineering roles.
• Proficient programming skills in Python (or similar languages).
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Practical experience with at least one of the major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Knowledge of vector databases, including open-source options and cloud-native vector search services.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs (such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, etc.).
• Experience with Google AppScript or similar automation tools.
• Proven ability to test LLM outputs for accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Excellent communication skills when engaging with non-technical audiences.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced remote consulting environment.
