Junior Developer in Test, Romania

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Develop clean, maintainable, and thoroughly documented automated test scripts for both front-end (UI) and back-end (API) components utilizing JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, or Python.

• Run existing automated test suites, evaluate results, and assist in broadening test coverage across different layers of the application.

• Detect, document, and monitor software defects, collaborating closely with developers to ensure prompt resolutions.

• Conduct manual and exploratory testing to identify edge-case issues that may not be easily captured by automated testing.

• Acquire skills to integrate and oversee automated tests within our CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

• Actively engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, team discussions, and code reviews to grasp requirements and testability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in software testing, QA automation, or software development (we welcome talented recent graduates or bootcamp alumni).

• Strong foundational coding abilities in at least one relevant programming language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Python).

• Basic knowledge or academic/project experience with automated testing tools for UI (e.g., Cypress, Playwright) or APIs (e.g., Postman, Pytest).

• Good comprehension of software QA methodologies, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and Agile methodologies.

• Basic familiarity with Git and version control practices.

• Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, a genuine enthusiasm for learning, and excellent communication skills in English.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical/bootcamp experience.
