This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Assist in the creation of scalable data pipelines and platform components, adhering to established frameworks, standards, and guidance from senior engineers.
• Implement software engineering best practices, encompassing coding standards, version control, testing, and documentation, to produce reliable and maintainable code.
• Support testing and release activities by executing test cases, validating modifications, and adhering to deployment procedures to ensure quality and stability.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and cross-functional teams within an agile environment to facilitate feature development and meet delivery commitments.
• Participate in operational activities by adhering to monitoring practices, deployment standards, and incident protocols to uphold platform reliability.
• Continually enhance technical skills through hands-on experience, mentorship, and constructive feedback, increasing autonomy and contributions over time.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in software or data engineering environments.
• Fundamental understanding of software engineering principles and coding best practices.
• Proficiency in SQL and basic data querying.
• Exposure to or a willingness to learn big data technologies like Scala, Spark, and distributed processing.
• Basic knowledge of data processing concepts, such as partitioning, parallel workloads, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to produce testable code and contribute to testing and documentation efforts.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and team collaboration practices.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Advanced proficiency in English and readiness to travel to São Carlos/SP when necessary.
