Junior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Designing the architecture of data products tailored for data analytics and data science, with a specific emphasis on use cases such as forecasting, feature engineering, customer behavior, and the integration of new data sources.

• Facilitate data transformation by establishing best practices in areas like data modeling, performance optimization, and data governance, ensuring that the data utilized within Prima is consistent, accessible, and reliable.

• Develop reusable technology that empowers teams to ingest, store, transform, and serve their own data products.

• Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to investigate the product landscape and refine data requirements for improved data infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong academic foundation in STEM fields;

• Ability to decompose problems, learn rapidly, and experiment with various approaches;

• Programming fundamentals (specific language is not critical; we prioritize clean, maintainable code above all);

• A strong interest in data and software, whether derived from coursework, projects, or personal ventures;

• Enthusiasm for building systems end-to-end: from data ingestion and transformation to model creation and service deployment;

• A strong desire and eagerness to learn from more experienced colleagues;

• Involvement in hackathons, contributions to open-source projects, or personal side projects;

• Proficiency in Python;

• Experience with data pipelines or distributed data systems (e.g., Spark, Airflow).
