Junior Commissioning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• The Commissioning Engineer will be tasked with testing and executing commissioning activities for various ongoing projects at GSI, adhering to GE Quality, Construction & Commissioning, and EHS processes and guidelines.

• The role requires full coordination with customer representatives to ensure compliance and satisfaction as per the contractual obligations.

• The individual in this position will report to the Regional Commissioning Team Leader.

• A presence on the construction site is required 100% of the time during the execution phase.

• Collaborate with the design office and PM team to ensure timely provision of necessary data for site work preparation (specifications, designs, BOQ, material lists, etc.).

• Generate commissioning documentation such as Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and more.

• Conduct electrical and functional testing (hands-on testing as a standalone tester) of primary and secondary devices within the switchyards.

• Publish test reports and ensure completion of relevant quality documentation.

• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and the project Quality Plan.

• Monitor, record, and report on the progress of assigned work.

• Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or an equivalent qualification.

• Familiarity with components of electrical substations, including CT/VTs, protection relays, control systems, transformers, etc.

• Knowledge and experience in the commissioning of electrical power stations or HVDC systems.

• Proficiency in English and German; additional language skills are advantageous.

• Willingness to work on construction sites both in Germany and internationally, including optional assignments on offshore platforms.

• A valid German driver's license, class B.
