Junior Backend Developer, Java, APIs, Microservices

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development and upkeep of backend services and APIs, playing a key role in crafting stable and scalable solutions;

• Implement features of low to medium complexity while adhering to coding standards, development best practices, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles;

• Identify and resolve bugs reported by the team or detected through monitoring tools;

• Make minor enhancements to existing code to improve performance, readability, and overall quality;

• Integrate and consume REST APIs from both internal and external systems, ensuring effective communication between services;

• Engage actively in the team's agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, planning meetings, and reviews;

• Assist in writing, maintaining, and executing fundamental unit tests;

• Take part in code reviews, offering constructive feedback and integrating suggestions;

• Collaborate with the development team, sharing knowledge and striving for continuous technical advancement;

• Work together with other team members to accomplish project goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of Java;

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts;

• Experience with developing and consuming REST APIs;

• Basic understanding of relational databases;

• Proficient in basic SQL for simple queries;

• Familiarity with unit testing principles;

• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git;

• Basic comprehension of microservices architecture;

• Understanding of application logging and monitoring;

• Basic knowledge of Docker;

• Experience with academic or personal projects developed in Java (preferred);

• Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot (preferred);

• Understanding of system integration (preferred);

• Exposure to agile methodologies, especially Scrum (preferred).
